Some of them are old enough to be our parents or even our grandparents! But do you ever wonder what happened to the children from Happy Days or The Brady Bunch? Let’s find out just where those chubby-faced stars ended up in life.
Quinn Cummings

Lauren Chapin
If you know the show Father Knows Best, then you know Lauren Chapin, or at least her character, Kitty. Chapin won five Junior Emmys for Best Child Actress for this role and she appeared in almost every single episode of the 203 episodes.

Jay North
Jay North landed multiple small roles as a child before getting the starring role in Dennis the Menace in 1959. This role led to commercials, crossover episodes, and endless promotions for the show as his character, Dennis. He became a popular teen star from his roles in the popular movies, Zebra in the Kitchen and Maya.
Image via Jay North/Facebook
North’s Dennis character followed him throughout his entire life, making it difficult for him to land roles without people comparing them to his childhood character. Eventually, he left the industry completely and became a correctional officer.
Ron Howard
Ron Howard began his career in the entertainment industry as a child actor in television series, like The Twilight Zone and The Andy Griffith Show. His other popular roles were in the film American Graffiti and in the sitcom, Happy Days.
Image via @realronhoward/IG
Howard began writing and directing in the ‘80s. His most well-known movies include Apollo 13 and* A Beautiful Mind*. While his acting performances were well received, it was his directing and writing that led to his two stars on the Walk of Fame!
Tony Dow
Tony Dow was another actor who owes his fame to the show Leave it to Beaver, playing Wally Cleaver, the older brother of the protagonist, Theodore. After this show ended, he appeared in other television series before returning as Wally Cleaver in the sequel series, The New Leave It to Beaver.

Mary Badham
Mary Badham’s acting career was short but sweet. With no prior acting experience, Badham was cast in To Kill a Mockingbird as Jean Louise “Scout” Finch at the age of 10. She appeared in two films within the next four years before she retired from acting.
Image by Everett(10277338a)/ Shutterstock; Image via Mary Badham/Facebook
She came out of her retirement in 2005 to act in the film Our Very Own. In her time outside of the entertainment industry, she is an art restorer and a college testing coordinator.
Jimmie Walker
Jimmie Walker was originally discovered doing a stand-up comedy routine. He is best known for his role on the ‘70s show, Good Times, where he played James Evans Jr., the oldest son of the Evans family. Walker appeared on game shows and made multiple guest appearances on television shows.
Image by Warner Bros/Kobal(5863719a)/Shutterstock; Image via Wikipedia
In the early 2010s, Walker released his autobiography. Today, Walker tours the country, performing his hilarious stand-up comedy routine, continuing with the very thing that jump-started his career in the first place.
Danny Bonaduce
Dante Daniel Bonaduce had a few small roles as a child actor before playing Danny Partridge in The Partridge Family. While he appeared in several other television shows and films throughout his career, Danny Partridge is the role that made Bonaduce famous.
Image by Abc/Kobal(5883955n)/Shutterstock; Image via Wikipedia
However, it was hosting that Bonaduce really took to, hosting both television and radio talk shows. As of 2011, Bonaduce has been hosting a morning radio show on a Seattle station. And we bet you didn’t know that Bonaduce both boxed and wrestled professionally in the 2000s!
Harvey Stephens
Not to be mistaken for the actor born in 1901, Harvey Stephens, this Harvey Stephens got his claim to fame when he was cast in the role of Damien Thorn, a devil child in the film, The Omen, which came out in 1976.
Screenshot from “The Omer”; Image via Imgur
This would be Stephens’s only significant role but it was enough to make his name well known and earn him a nomination for a Golden Globe. He also appeared in the film Gauguin the Savage, in 1980.
Alison Arngrim
Alison Arngrim began her career, like many others, modeling and acting in commercials. She was cast as Nellie Olsen on Little House on the Prairie in 1974, when she was 12 years old, and played this character for seven seasons. This character would inspire sketches in her comedy routines, another endeavor she would explore later in life.
Image by Nbc-Tv/Kobal(5884975af)/Shutterstock; Image via Alison Arngrim/Facebook
Arngrim took up stage acting as well, starting in 2006. She wrote an autobiography in 2010 and currently spends her time working for charities and organizations for causes close to her heart.
Pamela Sue Martin
Pamela Sue Martin started her career later than other actors listed here, beginning to model at age 17 and acting at age 19. She started acting in films but was mostly known for her role as Nancy Drew on the show The Nancy Drew Mysteries. She also had a recurring role on the show Dynasty in the ‘80s.
Since her bigger roles, she has appeared in films and television every so often. However, now her time is filled with activism regarding environmental causes and recreational activities.
Mike Lookinland
The youngest brother in The Brady Bunch, Bobby Brady was played by Michael Lookinland. Already having acted in around thirty commercials, Lookinland was a seasoned child actor, but his role as Bobby Brady set his career into motion. He would appear in many of *The Brady Bunch *sequels after the original show.
Image by Abc/Paramount/Kobal(5885436ab)/Shutterstock; Image via Wikipedia
He acted in various movies and television shows, but eventually decided to leave the entertainment industry. He now operates a concrete business in Utah.
Shaun Cassidy
Shaun Cassidy had a love for music and had already signed a contract and released an album when he was still in high school—being a teen idol appealed to audiences and allowed his first two albums to succeed. He also acted in stage productions and in The Hardy Boys Mysteries.
Image by Andre Csillag(1443430c)/Shutterstock; Image via @officialshauncassidy/IG
Although a well-known actor, Cassidy took up writing in the ‘90s as well as producing, which allowed him to work on many series we all know and love, like American Gothic, Invasion, and New Amsterdam.
Leif Garrett
Leif Garrett began acting alongside his sister, Dawn Lyn, who co-starred with him in the movie Devil Times Five, as well as a few television episodes. His notable childhood performances were in Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice when he was eight years old, and in the Walking Tall movies starting when he was 12 years old.
Image by Jonathan Player(66443f)/Shutterstock; Image via Leif Garrett/Facebook
Garrett also released music and continued to act in both television and films through the 2010s. He appeared on a few reality shows and released an autobiography in 2019.
Mackenzie Phillips
Mackenzie Phillips was spotted at one of her band’s performances when she was just 12 years old and offered an audition for the movie American Graffiti. She played the role of Carol Morrison. She then was cast in the show One Day at a Time, but her character was eventually written out of the show due to Phillip’s unsavory behavior.
Image by Glasshouse Images(4599505a)/Shutterstock; Image via @mackphillips/IG
Phillips was able to get back on her feet and returned to acting in the late ‘90s. And in 2016, she began working as an addictions rehab counselor.
Jodie Foster
Jodie Foster made her acting debut on the sitcom Mayberry R.F.D. at the age of six, but it was her role in Taxi Driver at 12 that set her career into motion. She was no longer seen as a child actor, however, once she starred in The Accused and The Silence of the Lambs.
Foster continued to star in thrillers and various Netflix television series. She made her directing debut in 1991 with Little Man Tate. And the talented Foster has won three Golden Globe Awards!
David Cassidy
David Cassidy was discovered by a casting director during a stage performance and immediately moved to Los Angeles, where he would begin acting in various television shows. His biggest role was as Keith Partridge on The Partridge Family, which helped boost his music career.
His success at the start was due mostly to his teen idol status, but he continued to release music through the early 2000s. Cassidy is known for being respectful and engaging with his fans and is involved with activism related to Alzheimer’s disease.
Willie Aames
Willie Aames began his career when he was a child in the late ’60s, appearing in multiple shows until he began portraying Tommy Bradford on the show Eight is Enough at the age of 17. At the same time, Aames was performing with his band, Willie Aames and Paradise, as well as appearing in the film, Scavenger Hunt.
In 2010, Aames changed career paths and worked as a Cruise Director for various cruise companies. He returned to acting in 2016 in the film Dater’s Handbook on the Hallmark Channel.
Ralph Carter
Ralph Carter began his career on the Broadway stage at nine, performing in The Me Nobody Knows. He also performed in Raisin, for which he received nominations and awards. However, Carter is most well-known for his role as Michael Evans on the show, Good Times.
Screenshot from “Good Times”; Image via Imgur
Carter also recorded and released an album, with singles that hit the charts in the Top 20. Now, Carter lives in New York City, spending time working with the AUDELCO, an organization focused on supporting black theatre in the tri-state area.
Kim Richards
Kim Richards started her true acting career as Prudence Everett in the series Nanny and the Professor in the early ‘70s. She was quickly cast in multiple Disney films like Escape to Witch Mountain and No Deposit. Richards guest starred in many television series in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s as well.
Image via Wikipedia; Image via @kimrichards11/IG
The role that most of us know her for now, however, is of course as a regular cast member on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills which she was on for five seasons in 2010.
Kathy Coleman
Kathy Coleman was cast in the show Land of the Lost, playing Holly Marshall at the age of 12. She portrayed this character for three seasons and was her only major television role during her career.
Screenshot from ” Land of the Lost”; Image via Imgur
About 40 years later, Coleman released two memoirs, both detailing her life as a child actress on Land of the Lost, as well as many other aspects of her life, including marriages and life in the entertainment industry in general.
Erin Moran
Erin Moran began acting at the age of five. She was cast in the show Daktari as Jenny Jones in 1966. She also appeared in other television series and films before starting in her most well-known role as Joanie Cunningham in Happy Days, for eight years. She continued with this character in a spin-off series called Joanie Loves Chachi in 1982.
Image via Wikipedia
Moran continued to appear in multiple television shows, like Murder, She Wrote, and The Love Boat. Unfortunately, at the young age of 56, Moran died due to cancer.
Brandon Cruz
Brandon Cruz auditioned for and got the role of Eddie Colbert on the series The Courtship of Eddie’s Father when he was just five years old. This series ran for three years, but Cruz continued to act even after the show’s cancellation. He appeared on shows like Kung Fu and The Incredible Hulk.
Cruz soon was interested in pursuing punk rock and began his career in music with the band called Dr. Know, and later with Dead Kennedys. His most recent appearance in the movie The Lords of Salem in 2012.
Parker Stevenson
Parker Stevenson starred in A Separate Peace at 20 years old. He finished college, where he was actually studying to be an architect, and got a role in the film Lifeguard, but his first real notable role was as Frank Hardy in The Hardy Boys in the ‘70s.
Image Stein/Mediapunch(8960001a)/Shutterstock; Image via @parkerstevensonofficial/IG
Stevenson continued acting but no role made the same impact that his later role as Craig Pomeroy in the series Baywatch did. His most recent role was as Louis Osmond in Greenhouse Academy from 2017 to 2020. Stevenson is also a photographer!
Robby Benson
Robby Benson’s career took off when he was just a teenager, playing significant roles in the films One on One and Ice Castles. Both these films and many more that he starred in were sports films and required his athletic abilities and quick learning.
Image Barr/Mediapunch(8551105a)/Shutterstock; Image via Robby Benson/Facebook
Did you know that Benson also voiced the character of the Beast in Beauty and the Beast? And Benson stays busy to this day, publishing books, teaching classes as a professor at multiple universities and being an activist in the fields of heart research.
Ricky Schroder
Ricky Schroder was the youngest Golden Globe winner in history for his performance as Jon Voight in The Champ, the first role he ever played at the age of nine. His next notable role was in the television show Silver Spoons as Ricky Stratton.
Imager by Mgm/Kobal(5881764f)/Jim Ruymen / UPI(12429002ab)/Shutterstock
Schroder was able to drop his childish typecast, much to his satisfaction, and was cast in more mature roles in shows like NYPD Blue, Scrubs, and 24. He also directed films, starting in 2004.
Kylie and Kendall Jenner
The Kardashian-Kendall klan dress up in multiple elaborate costumes every Halloween. This year, the two youngest siblings decided to replicate an old photo which many online have rudely made fun of over the years.
We can’t say we understand what the costumes were neither then nor now. But it doesn’t even matter. What is obvious is Kylie and Kendall nailed them, both as the cute little girls they were then and as the stunning women they are today.
Olivia Wilde
Olivia seems to be yet another female star who wasn’t interested in dressing up as a princess when she was a little girl. This year it looks like she went for some kind of Zombie-Wonder Woman hybrid.
It definitely deserves point for originality, but we wouldn’t say it’s the most aesthetically pleasing costume we’ve ever seen. Oh well, as long as young Olivia had fun while wearing it (which we have a feeling she did) it doesn’t really matter what she looked like.
Ariana Grande
Ariane Grande has a powerful voice and an equally powerful personality, which takes some by surprise since she’s only 5’3. And this picture makes it obvious she was just as confident as a little kid.
Just check her out, wrestling her big brother Frankie to the ground like it’s a piece of cake. All while wearing a pink tutu. Meanwhile, Frankie is dressed up as something that looks quite scary. But if his goal was to scare his baby sister, clearly he failed. You go Ariana!
Carrie Underwood
This adorable picture is close to heart for country star Carrie Underwood, because it was her favorite Halloween costume growing up. Little Carrie had a thing for bunnies and she even admitted in an interview she actually slept in this bunny costume, which she wore on Halloween when she was six.
We can relate. Most of us had some inexplicable obsession with a Halloween costume growing up, usually because it depicted our favorite Disney character. But bunnies are a solid choice too.
Victoria Justice
Victoria Justice is no stranger to goofiness. The Nickelodeon fan favorite sitcom Victorious saw her and other future stars, such as Ariana Grande and Avan Jogia, rely heavily on silly plots and comedy (and singing, of course) to keep the audience entertained.
In this old picture shared by Victoria on her Instagram, she did a throwback to years ago when her and her little sister Madison Reed dressed up for Halloween. Victoria was an an 80’s girl and little sis a zombie bride.
Ashanti
Ashanti loved Halloween as a kid, and this is one of many awesome costumes she proudly wore growing up. In this picture she was seven, and was dressed as a 1920s flapper.
The multifaceted singer and Resident Evil: Extinction star has admitted she used to run home from school every Halloween and immediately dutifully do her homework just so she could start the spooky celebrations as fast as possible. Her favorite part was going trick-or-treating with her friends.
Cheryl Burke
Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Cheryl Burke is (unsurprisingly) dressed up as a dancer in this Halloween throwback. She was only six, and describes how she wanted to be a belly dancer (most likely influenced by the Aladdin craze).
Her very favorite part of this awesome custom was that cool snake bracelet that’s curling up her arm. Cheryl added she just felt so adult and glamorous in this costume, and we really can’t blame her. It’s definitely one of our favorites on the list.
Lauren Conrad
Have you ever seen a less scary witch? We don’t think we have, and as she grew up Lauren clearly opted for some more elegant Halloween costumes, such as this classy ’20s look.
When asked about her witch costume from when she was eight, Lauren admitted she remembers really loving it. But she also agrees she doesn’t look as scary as she remembers feeling. But hey, the fact that she felt like a big bad witch is what matters. Halloween is all about imagination.
Camilla Belle
This adorable Halloween look is one of Brazilian-American actress Camilla Belle’s most memorable. Her great aunt who lives in Brazil made it for her, during a phase when Camille was very fascinated with Disney princess Esméralda.
Six-year-old Camilla definitely looks completely adorable in this look, and already at this age you can see some of those charming on-camera skills we later on got to enjoy in classics such as The Lost World: Jurassic Park and The Secret Garden.
Rowan Blanchard
For those who don’t yet know her, Rowan Blanchard is one of the young up-and-coming stars of Hollywood. At just 19 years old, she has already made her mark as a prominent Disney Channel star, and has in recent years graduated to major movie productions and shows.
Rowan started her acting career at the age of five, which is just a year after she dressed up as this tiny, adorable Tinker Bell with witch baby sister Carmen (also a talented actress).
Jewel
For those confused about who’s Jewel in this cute little scene, she’s the mouse about to get devoured by the big, bad cat. Jewel was six here, and her parents needed to improvise to come up with a last-minute costume for their daughter.
They found a left-over mouse costume from a local production of The Nutcracker in their closet (because that’s apparently something people keep around), and voila; one of Jewel’s simplest yet cutest Halloween outfits to date was born.
Emma Roberts
It seems like Emma here was already focused on getting cast in a horror series in the future, and decided to practice some method acting by dressing up as a witch for Halloween. Whether it helped her performance on American Horror Story, we have no idea, but we do know she rocked that role.
Emma was pretty much born into showbiz, as the niece of the iconic Julia Robert and daughter of renowned actor Eric Roberts. So few were surprised she chose this career path.
Khloé Kardashian
We’ve already mentioned the Kardashian-Jenner family’s love for Halloween, and now it’s Khloé’s turn to show off one of her many costumes from Halloweens pasts. Here she is around four, and is wearing an adorable little ballerina, posing with big sister Kim who chose a flapper outfit this year.
Khloé might have spent some of her adolescent and young adult years in her big sister’s shadow, but this picture makes it obvious the two both have their own unique type of beauty.
Jim Parsons
Jim Parsons has the kind of unique look and acting style that makes him one of a kind in Hollywood. And the Big Bang star is easily recognizable already here, despite being just three years old.
Unsurprisingly this natural born entertainer loved Halloween, and has said his mom was always turning into a big, fun event for her kids. Here Jim’s little sister was however a little too young to cooperate with her brother Batman and pose for the camera.
Lauren Bushnell
Bachelor star Lauren Bushnell actually looks even more like a princess now as an adult, than she did dressed up as Cinderella for Halloween back when this picture was taken. But little Lauren still pulled off the character beautifully.
Lauren won the 20th season of The Bachelor and got engaged to bachelor Ben Higgins. But it wasn’t meant to be and in 2019 Lauren instead married country singer Chris Lane. The two live together in Nashville.
LeeAnn Rimes
Have you even seen a more adorable pumpkin? We definitely haven’t? And that winning LeeAnn Rimes smile is still the same all these years later. Already at the young age when this Halloween picture was taken, little LeeAnn was enrolled in singing and dance classes and had already showed unusual talent.
By the age of nine she was already touring the country as a seasoned country singer, at 14 released her first album and the rest is, as the say, history.
Lindsey Lohan
The Disney princess theme continues! As a true kid of the ’90s, Jasmine was young Lindsey’s big inspiration this year. The costume is truly stunning, so it’s not surprising Lindsey is beaming in the picture.
Not long after this Halloween, Lindsey would get caught up in the rollercoaster that is being a popular child actor in Hollywood, which wasn’t only a good thing for her. But after some years of substance abuse and a turbulent lifestyle, it seems as if Lindsey is happy again.
Nicole Scherzinger
Ok the picture quality isn’t great here, but if you look closely you can see this is Nicole Scherzinger, dressed up as her idol Carmen Miranda. Nicole was just nine years old here, but has said she remembers loving dressing up as Carmen.
And she spent a lot of time on the costume, as getting that fruit ornament on top of her head was no easy feat. But it was worth all her hard work, as she won every single costume contest she entered wearing it.
Katherine Heigl
Yes that is Katherine Heigl in the corner of the picture, looking a little judgy if you ask us (but maybe that was part of the ’80s girl costume?). Anyone who has seen Heathers knows mean girls were very much a part of high school also back in the 1980s.
Katherine has never been scared to show some attitude in her roles, from the ice-cold Isabel Evans on Roswell to strong-willed Dr. Izzie Stevens on Grey’s Anatomy, as well as off-camera. So this picture captures that essence well.
The Jonas Brothers
The Jonas Brothers grew up as part of the Disney Channel world, and their charming, fun dynamic along with their musical talent helped propel them to stardom.
This adorable picture capture the boys before they were famous, and already back then they were not shy in front of the camera. And they were very creative when it came to Halloween. This pic is from 1998, when the three dressed up as Grandpa Grape from Veggie Tales, Blue from Blue’s Clues, and the game Operation
Amanda Bynes
Check out the bright smile on this very young bride Amanda Bynes! That’s right, little Amanda loved pretending she was a married housewife. So the obvious choice of Halloween costume here when she was nine, was a bride excited to walk down the aisle.
We love the attention to details here, the veil, hair piece, and even an old-school little wedding umbrella. The former actress has been out of the spotlight for years, but her childhood fantasy might come true pretty soon, as she is reportedly engaged.
Maria Menounos
The Greek-American TV personality Maria Menounos loved her Dorothy costume so much she decided to recreate it, years later. The first time she was Dorothy, she was only a teen and her first dog Baby made the perfect Toto.
Baby was not there to recreate the look a couple of decades later, but we think Maria still rocked the character the second time around. The cut is definitely a little more raunchy and less true to the original character, but hey, what fun is Halloween if you’re not allowed to get a little creative?
Jayma Mays
Already at age two, Glee star Jayma Mays was rocking her signature short red hair, but with a slightly less glamorous feel to it in this specific Halloween picture. Mostly because she was dressed up as a pretty terrifying clown.
Jayma has explained her mom was in charge of making the costume, but for some reason her big sister was tasked with the face paint. The result turned out as can be expected when a young child uses paint, and Jayma has half-jokingly said she believes her fear of clowns can be traced to this very moment.
David Cook
Why does Idol winner David Cook look so excited in this picture? Is it because he is so happy it’s Halloween? Is it because he is very proud of his mouse costume? It’s a no on both accounts.
Truth is, the rock singer remembers this moment vividly, because his mother was insisting on getting a picture of her adorable looking son, but three-year-old David desperately needed to pee. That’s why he struck this pose, the second before he set off running to the bathroom.
Lee Ann Womack
Check out this happy witch! Country music singer Lee Ann Womack remembers feeling super special this year, when she at the age of four wore a home-made witch costume. Her mother had carefully made it for her, but as the cherry on top she got a store-bought, “real” witch hat.
Lee Ann recalls feeling super special on this day, and that excited feeling really shines through in the picture. That captivating smile has served her well in the years since, as she has made the spotlight her career.
Bethenny Frankel
Television personality and self-help author Bethenny Frankel has always loved Hawaii, and that love started already when she as a little girl wanted to be a Hula girl. So when she was five, that’s the costume her mother helped her create. That cheeky, happy expression makes it clear little Bethenny had a lot of fun getting in character.
Bethenny may not have turned out to fulfill her dream of hula dancing beyond this picture, but she excelled in other areas of life. Most know her as the runner-up on The Apprentice: Martha Stewart.
Martha Stewart
It’s hard to imagine Martha Stewart as a child, because it kind of feels like she has always just been…Martha Stewart, the domestic grandma goddess of television. But she too enjoyed letting her imagination take over and have fun on Halloween back when she was just a child.
We’re not sure how old she was in this picture, but it’s obvious her mother put a lot of effort into this very authentic looking Little Bo Peep costume.
Katie Holmes is an American actress, director and producer, who rose to fame in the late ’90s through her role on the TV series, “Dawson’s Creek.” She has also acted on Broadway, as well as directed and starred in the 2016 movie, “All We Had.”
Holmes lives in Hidden Hills with her 14-year-old daughter, Suri, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise. The couple had been married for 6 years before Holmes filed for divorced, and gained custody of their daughter.
Katie Holmes – home
Katie Holmes purchased her European contemporary manor in 2014 for nearly $3.8 million. The 6,040 square foot home sits on nearly half an acre of land, and has a separate guest retreat aside from the main house. There are 6 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, and a seamless integration living, dining and cooking spaces within the house.
The most striking feature of the home, however, is the large pool area, which has a unique fire pit, spa, covered loggia and outdoor kitchen. There is also a grassy yard and a sports court.
Drake
With more than 170 million records sold, the Canadian-born rapper, singer, songwriter, producer and actor, Drake, is one of the most recognizable names in the music industry. He has won a number of Grammy Awards, AMAs, and holds several records on Billboard charts.
Aside from having a house in his hometown of Toronto, Drake also calls Hidden Hills, California home. The artist’s outrageous luxury pad is one of the most opulent homes in the area, which makes sense given Drake’s reputation as a musician.
Drake – home
The best feature in Drake’s 12,000 square foot mansion, which he has dubbed the “YOLO Estate,” is undeniably the enormous swimming pool, which behind the falls is an epic man-made grotto. He has been reported to say that one of his goals “is to have the biggest residential pool on the planet.”
Drake had found this property in 2007, when googling for the world’s craziest pool. He then managed to snag this property in 2012, for $7.7 million – a bargain considering the actual value of this piece of land.
Khloe Kardashian
Khloe Kardashian is a media personality, model and socialite, most famous for her role in the reality television show starring her family, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” She has also starred in spin-offs of the series: “Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons” and “Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami.”
Like many other members of this famous family, Khloe lives in Calabasas. Khloe also has a daughter named True, whom she shares with basketball player, Tristan Thompson.
